SHELTER, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Communications & Graphic Design Specialist who has three to five years of communications experience, ideally in an “in-house” role within a complex nonprofit organization, and covering areas such as brand management, website and social media content, graphic design, printed and electronic newsletters, and donor communications.
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Communications & Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for assisting with the development and refinement of SHELTER, Inc.’s communication strategy to guide all communications and collateral to consistently articulate SHELTER, Inc.’s mission.
This individual is an ambassador for the organization and needs to build relationships with the media. The goal is to advance the organization's position with relevant constituents, as well as to drive broader awareness and donor support for the organization.

Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator this individual is responsible for oversight of residence and facility needs during their shift. He/she must be willing to accommodate work schedule to include evening; weekend, and holiday shifts.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
